Raoul S. Concepcion, MD, FACS, Urology Associates P.C., discusses the potential for the 4Kscore test as a predictor of high-grade prostate cancer.
- There remains a need for a way for physicians to determine which prostate cancer patients need to be biopsied and if the detected tumor is high-grade.
- An early study of about 1000 patients analyzed the 4Kscore test in this space.
- The 4Kscore test, with certain limits, may be able to predict higher-grade cancers. This test could reduce the number of biopsies without missing a significant number of high-grade tumors.
