Targeted Oncology™ launches Oncology Icons award program to recognize community oncologists

The program highlights the exceptional work of oncology providers.

CRANBURY, N.J., 1 June 2023-- Targeted Oncology, a multimedia resource that offers engaging content and expert opinions on standard and emerging treatments in the field of oncology, is pleased to announce the launch of its Oncology Icons award program. Designed to honor the outstanding achievements of community oncologists, this program aims to highlight their exceptional work and provide valuable opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. To be eligible for the July 2023 award, nominations must be submitted no later than June 30, 2023. This recognition is open to eligible physicians who are oncologists/hematologists practicing in the community setting and have a minimum of seven years of experience. Nominees must be endorsed by a practice, professional organization or fellow physician.

Selected honorees will be featured in a quarterly article published on the Targeted Oncology website and in Targeted Therapies in Oncology™, a renowned publication in the field. Along with the recognition, recipients will have the chance to share their unique expertise with the oncology community through several opportunities.

The opportunities offered to honorees include:

  • The chance to submit bylines to Targeted Oncology for up to two years after their recognition;
  • An invitation to join the Targeted Therapies in Oncology editorial board;
  • Being one of the first experts Targeted Oncology contacts for quotes related to FDA approvals, guidelines updates and clinical trial updates;
  • An invitation to a virtual interview with Targeted Oncology to discuss work at their practice/institution;
  • An invitation to participate in a Targeted Chat on Twitter Spaces to discuss cancer types and treatments;
  • An open invitation from Targeted Oncology to be interviewed on video at medical meetings for up to two years after their recognition;
  • Invitation to share topics the honoree thinks are important to cover and give honorees the option to provide commentary.

Organizations and key opinion leaders that know of physicians who are making important strides in community oncology are welcome to submit a nomination. The nomination submission must be a minimum of 150 words and thoroughly describe how the nominee has demonstrated exceptional expertise, compassion and diligence while working as an oncologist/hematologist.
