0:09 | This is the third cancer rehab symposium we've had in the last 3 years. It really started with us trying to bring a lot of knowledge from both within MCI and Baptist [Health], as well as from the community at large and even national renowned speakers in cancer rehabilitation, to bring them all together to provide the state of the art education for people that are interested in this topic, [including] therapists [and] physicians. As far as I know, we've not had this before in Florida. So this was a novel project for us to bring that expertise and knowledge with the goal being that the people attending the conference could use this very practical information in the care of cancer patients and cancer survivors.

1:05 | We've had several topics over the last 3 years that have covered the range from the latest as far as surgical radiation, medical treatments of various types of cancers, such as head and neck cancer, breast cancer, and so forth. Then, very specific topics that are related to the physical impairments and challenges faced by cancer patients and survivors. One of the best ways to approach these problems is using a multidisciplinary approach that includes therapists, rehabilitative professionals and clinicians, acupuncturist massage therapists, [and] if needed, nutritionists, as well. It's that kind of a holistic approach to the patients, but really using state of the art knowledge about various topics.
