'Kenneth Wang, MD, director of the Advanced Endoscopy Group and Esophageal Neoplasia Clinic, Mayo Clinic, discusses his opposition for screening for Barrett's esophagus as a preventative measure for esophageal adenocarcinoma. Wang says currently, a gastroenterologist will most commonly screen a patient for Barrett's esophagus with an endoscopy. Wang says the practice of endoscopies do not result in many revelations of Barrett's esophagus, partially due to not enough biopsies being taken.
