Real-World Medicare Database Outcomes With BTKi in Frontline CLL

Daniel Ermann, MD, discusses a retrospective study he presented at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting that compared real-world Medicare database data for over 10,000 patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia treated with frontline BTK inhibitor (BTKi) therapy: zanubrutinib (Brukinsa), acalabrutinib (Calquence), or ibrutinib (Imbruvica).

Daniel Ermann, MD, discusses a retrospective study he presented at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting that compared real-world Medicare database data for over 10,000 patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemiatreated with frontline BTK inhibitor (BTKi) therapy: zanubrutinib (Brukinsa), acalabrutinib (Calquence), or ibrutinib (Imbruvica). He explains that zanubrutinib had the longest time to treatment discontinuation and the longest time to next treatment. Zanubrutinib also showed better overall survival outcomes compared with the 2 other BTKi therapies.
