Daniel Ermann, MD, discusses his approach to treatment sequencing in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia who aged 80 years and older.Ermann says it is ultimately the patient’s decision on whether to start with fixed-duration or continuous therapy. Among those preferring continuous therapy in the first line, Ermann says real-world data analyses have shown better outcomes with zanubrutinib vs other BTK inhibitor (BTKi) therapies in this setting. Following frontline BTKi, Ermann again relies on patient preference between fixed-duration or continuous treatment in the second line.
